20 mile bike ride on the American River Parkway on a day that felt like summer

On a spring day that felt more like summer (temps in the high 80s), the Adventurers set out on a bike ride that took them 20 miles (10 miles out and back) along the American River on the adjacent bike path. The total length of the trail is 31 miles, stretching from near old town in Sacramento to Folsom Lake. Many have hailed it as one of the best bike paths in America, which is used also by walkers as joggers, with equestrians sharing the trail along some segments. Along the way, people stop and visit, as well as picnic, if so inclined. One woman they was singing Buddhist chants. It was L’s longest bike ride to date. Oh, and then there was the coyote and rattlesnake encountered along the way…
