Surprise trip to Giants game on Willie Mac Award night

Madison Bumgarner receiving Willie Mac award for 2014

Adventurers at last Giants game of regular season1The Adventurers fell into two great seats for the Giants versus Padres game tonight, so altered their dinner plans and instead made a trip up to the yard.

The game mattered little; the Giants are in the postseason and will play a wild card game on Wednesday. But what made it special was the handing out of the annual Willie Mac Award, given to a player annually for being the team’s most inspirational player. It was won by pitcher Madison Bumgarner, who was greeted on field by some of the past winners, including L favorites like Bob Brenly and Chris Speier and Robby Thompson. Fun to see them all on the field again,

And it was a thankful that the game didn’t matter. It was a real snooze affair with the Padres coming out on top, 4-1….
