Getting the feel of sea level hiking with a climb up Windy Hill

Windy Hill hike_July 16The Adventurers (or at least L) thought climbing up Windy Hill (about 2 1/2 miles to around 2000 feet) would be a cinch given all of the high altitude hiking they’d been doing. But when it’s warm, an ascent up Windy is never really easy. Maybe it’s just not hard.

Maggie knows exactly where the cool spots are, climbing into the horse trough near the top and then patiently waiting for the creek near the end of the hike. It did feel good to have the muscles working…
