Getting a taste of Genoa after long day of travel

D and old galleon_old port_091715Two hour bus ride. Airport crammed with people. Two air plane ride. Easy taxi ride into the city of Genoa. That about wraps up the Adventurers day – a busy one.

Getting to their hotel – the Grand Hotel Savoie, which was built in 1897 and still going strong – they collapsed for awhile before heading out on foot for a walk along the waterfront. They expected Fisherman’s Wharf but it was sparser and prettier than that.

There was a replica of an old sailing warship among the sights. And they ate not seafood but a delicious steak at a restaurant, Le Mura di Malapaga, run by a charming Italian couple. It was a good start to their stay in Italy…
