After a walk to the hilltops of Monterossa al Mare – a good almost two-mile leg stretcher to start the day – the Adventurers headed southeast via ferry this morning with destination Portovenere. From the first moment they saw it, it looked like a perfect place to spend a few days.
After a quick lunch at a restaurant near the port, they hit the beach. Like most of the beaches in Italy, it was a private (e.g. you pay a fee) beach. And again, pebbles, not sand, were the norm. But the sun and the water were warm.
It was a pretty, breezy day. And the second afternoon in the row that they chilled out.
Once back in their room, they wondered why they’d left given the pretty view from their balcony…
