Almost winter hike in Arastradero open space preserve

Arastradero hike_Dec. 17

There’s been enough rain this year that the hills are turning green. But not enough to make the trails muddy.

Their destination today was Arastradero open space, a good choice when time is short but there’s need for a good workout, which is provided by a long, slow climb up toward Foothill Park.

The temperature was cool enough that Maggie decided not to take a dip in the pond, which she usually does with enthusiasm.

A number of the trails have been coated with rocks, which will make them more passable throughout all winter. That’s good news…
