Walking along Asilomar State Beach and the 17 mile drive

D and Mag along 17 mile drive

The one thing the Adventurers wanted for sure today was a level walk. Both were feeling some effects of their steep up and down hike yesterday.

D and Mag Asilomar Beach_vertSo they chose to start at Asilomar State Beach in Pacific Grove. Considering it was a holiday weekend, crowds were light, maybe due to the brisk weather (but no real wind!).

After walking along the boardwalk on the dunes, they came to Spanish Bay where Maggie was allowed off leash to “zoom,” her favorite seaside activity.

They then picked up the trail that goes along the 17-mile drive. While some was on along the road, other portions took them away from the traffic. They paused at Restless Sea, Point Joe and China Rock before heading back.

It was, they decided, a great way to see the famous landmarks along the way. Maybe better than driving…
