On another path not well traveled along the Bay

Blair Island freeway walk

And there’s a reason for that. It parallels 101 between Whipple in Redwood City and San Carlos and is noisy, noisy, noisy.

It was not the Adventurers intent to take this path. Knowing they had to make a CostCo run, they decided to check out the new Bair Island area (although they couldn’t find anything online about it). This had been a favorite running loop when Cassie was around (which, of course, was years ago).

It’s now part of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge with only a portion of the trails open. But that didn’t matter – it was off limits to dogs.

So, pressed for time, they talked along a side trail not in the refuge and ultimately along 101. Serene it was not. But they did spot some egrets along the way.
