Hiking up Windy Hill on another warm winter day

The weather folks tell us the drought of February is set to give way to the rains of March. So the Adventurers used that as incentive to hike the Windy Hill loop up Spring Ridge trail and down Hamm’s Gulch.

Hamms Gulch trail_March1The fields are in all of their green glory and there were sprinklings of early wildflowers. And only a little breeze interrupted the warm sun.

Maggie knows every wet spot along the trail. On the way up, there is a horse trough she likes to paddle around in. And going down there is the creek – all the better for splashing.

L took the the photo of The Mag and D on Hamm’s Gulch trail. It struck her that all of this beauty is but a 10 minute drive away. Well, and then a lot of up and down…

Hike/moderate/7.7 miles
