You could see for miles and miles from atop Coal Creek OSP

view from atop Coal Creek OSP

After a very blustery day yesterday, the views from the top of Coal Creek Open Space Preserve today was spectacular. The buildings in San Francisco were very distinct as were the peaks, Mt. Tamalpais and Mt. Diablo.

It was just one of the perks of hiking trails that they Adventurers agreed they don’t think to do enough. At this time of year, it had a lot of greenery and water, and was mostly shady, which they vow to remember when the summer and heat comes.

It’s popular with mountain bikers, so they’ll probably not go on the weekend. A couple of cyclists came whizzing by them at two-high speeds with nary a warning.

There were some good pulls and a lot of up and down and varied vegetations from Redwoods to Oaks and chaparral. And, of course, the abandoned but cleverly painted pick up truck to pose in front of.

A great little 7 1/2 miles mini-butt kicker…
