Lizard invasion at Pulgas Ridge open space today

shadowy at Pulgas RidgeThe Adventurers decided to keep it local today, with a twist. D took off on his bike with the destination Pulgas Ridge. L and the Mag followed in the car 45 minutes later.

This dog-friendly destination that has some ups and downs but is far from a butt kicker, used to be the site of a TB sanatorium, although only occasional gravely roads hint that there were ever building there.

What was there this morning, at least on the way up, were dozens and dozens of lizard sunning themselves, which proved most vexing to Maggie. She’d spot them, they’d stay still, she’d go for them, they would successfully scamper away. She’s as lizard crazed as she is squirrel crazed.

The day stayed a bit warmer than forecasts, and D’s walk was complicated by the fact that while he put hiking clothes in the car, he forgot the hiking boots, so he walked in biking shoes.

It’s all a bit confusing, the morning was lovely nevertheless…
