Enjoying a hike in Hartshorne Woods

D at Hartshorne WoodsOn the suggestion of groom Patrick, the Adventurers headed north up the Jersey shore to Hartshorne Woods, a 736-acre park that has 16 miles of trails, several old military bunkers and a small beach with a fishing pier.

They first did a three-mile hike on the Laura Ridge trail located in the Buttermilk Valley section. The wood were thick enough to shield them from the light rain that was falling. At the top of the ridge, they could look down at Sea Bright, where they ended up eating lunch.

They then headed over to  Rocky Point section, where bunkers were installed during World War II to defend the harbor and eastern seaboard.
