Del Valle by water – and another lunch on the lawn at Concannon

K and the Mag at Del Valle

D’s been talking about paddling on Lake Del Valle for some time and today they decided to make the almost 90 minute trek to Livermore.

It was decidedly different when than when they went hiking there in March of 2015 when the hillsides were green. At this time of the year, they’re golden – a lovely contrast against a blue sky with scattered clouds.

They put Kermy and Old Yeller in the water from a beach and paddled toward the end of the Lake as it narrowed. It was reminiscent of paddling on some of the Delta rivers.

By the time they turned around, the wind had come up and the Lake got choppy with some white caps. The Mag had to hold tight.

They concluded their adventure with another tasty lunch on the lawn at Concannon Vineyards…
