Egret at Baylands_2016The Adventurers had not been to Baylands recently, so they headed there late morning knowing that the breezes from the Bay would keep things relatively cool and that The Mag would be able to get a dip in one of the creeks.

The five-plus mile loop they walked was once one of L’s main Saturday morning jogging routes; she guesses she’s been there hundreds of times. But never before has she seen so many birds, hundreds of gulls and pelicans with dozens of other shore birds she didn’t know the names of. And there there was one big egret…
