Watching the real minor league Giants get beat, too

Last night, the Adventurers felt like they were watching minor league baseball. Today, under a very hot April sun, they watched actual minor league baseball.

The occasion was their annual visit to San Jose Municipal Stadium, home of the San Jose Giants. The reason: UCLA chum Christine was in town to visit her husband Rick Magnante, manager of the Stockton Ports who were playing the San Jose Giants.

From a Giants perspective, it was no better than last night. But from a-all-in-for-Rick perspective, it was a good game with the Ports beating the Giants, 3-1.

It was so hot that the watching trio needed to seek shelter in the shade from time to time. Memories of that were washed away during an after-game dinner at Left Bank at Santana Row. And, just as important, showers when they got home…
