Keeping it cool on the coast while it heats up in Menlo

Today the forecast was for 80s in Menlo Park and 60s coast side, so the Adventurers decided to head over and walk on the bluffs from Kelly Rd to just south of the Wavecraft bird area. They hadn’t done the stretch for a long, long while, and wanted to check out the spring flowers in bloom.

They were rewarded with more ice plant in bloom than they’d ever seen before. It was a true carpet of flowers, almost burying the ice plant leave from sight.

They stumbled on one other “hiding in plain sight” artifact – the skull of a blue whale. Given that L, in particular has walked the coast trail hundreds of times, it’s hard to figure out how she’d missed it.

The fun of adventuring. Always something new…
