Into the Santa Cruz mountains – first stop Mystery Spot

When the tour guide at the Mystery Spot asked if anyone had been there before two people raised their hands – L and D, both citing it was 50-60 years ago.

The long Santa Cruz Mountain tourist attractions was discovered in 1939 and opened to the public in 1940. So the two Adventurers would have seen it in its earliest years.

To their best recollection, it hasn’t changed much. It’s still a sleight of hand that showcases gravity, compass, velocity and height where “the laws of physics do not apply.”

Grace volunteered at the earliest demonstration where she and another girl exchanged heights so to speak. James warmed up slowly and by the end of the tour was the sole star receiving applause, which seemed to please him.

And a good time was had by all…
