Heading to the hills for a different view of Thailand

The Adventurers were up early enough to do a good three-mile leg stretcher in Chiang Mai followed by a delicious lunch at the noodle shop just down the street from their hotel. Then it was off to the mountains in an area called Mae Rim.

Their hotel for the next two nights – the Panviman Resort – is built onto a hillside. Luckily, their very spacious room  is not too far up the hill, so they’re able to walk back and forth for their meals.

They checked out the pool – unheated and cool, it is winter after all – and enjoyed the views over the forested hillsides.

At dinner, some local children serenaded the assembled diners. The music may not have been to their taste but the kids were so earnest and clearly pleased with their work. The charming restaurant manager joined them for a bit…
