A winter marsh hike on a day that felt like winter

Baylands march walk_lead - 1

The Adventurers abandoned the hiking shorts of last week to bundle up this morning for a hike along the marshes that line San Francisco Bay.

While they’ve often done a loop walk around Baylands, they chose to head in a another direction today, walking in the direction of the airports and, more important, the still closed Palo Alto muni golf course, which will open in a couple months after a complete re-hauling.

Along the way, they found out the trail closure from the athletic center wasn’t due to golf course construction but rather a new levee that should alleviate the flooding of San Francisquito Creek over the years.

They’ll kayak up the Creek again when the weather gets warmer.
