Another hiding in plain sight spot is Byrnes Preserve

When the Adventurers took the kiddos to Hidden Villa during their winter break, they realized there was a whole lot to explore in the Los Altos Hills, so near but so far away.

That led them to return today, along with The Mag, to hike up the Artemas Ginzton pathway. L is thinking her neighbor, who grew up in Los Altos Hills may well shed more light on the Ginzton family but until then they are described as a couple who  “touched the fields of technology, land preservation and architecture.”

Today was mainly spent in the Byrne Preserve. They parked along Moody Road and made their way up with a gradual climb. It should be noted that during the week, they were largely alone, which allowed The Mag to have some off leash time.

At the top of the trail is the very pretty Westwind Stables, where they stopped for a snack.

All to say, there’s always something new, even thought it can be close by…
